According to Anandi Ma, “One of the foundations of meditation is not just how well you can sit on your asan but what you have done before and after that is going to influence your ability to sit there and go deeper into meditative states. Without being aware and conscious of what we do on an ongoing basis, to attain that state of concentration is going to be very difficult.”
Drawing upon the ancient wisdom of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and Vivekananda’s Raja Yoga to explore the system of eight-limb yoga, they discuss how to purify, control, master, and finally apply the mind for meditation and explain other techniques that accelerate spiritual evolution. Yogic teachings include definitions and discussions of the yamas, niyamas, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyan, and samadhi.
